Volunteering at FRS

Community and connection are at the heart of everything we do. Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back, build relationships, and deepen your connection to our synagogue and the broader community. Whether you have a few hours a week

On-going:
  Become a  Warden

Wardens play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of synagogue services. You don't need to be an expert - we offer training and support. It's especially rewarding to make sure that the family at a B'nei Mitzvah know what to do when, and have a positive and enriching experience.

On-going:
  Chesed

Supporting members in need, for example with some shopping, a lift to hospital or picking up their medication. Sometimes our members just need a sympathetic ear and friendly person to chat to.

If you are a driver, a listener, a social worker, or just want to lend a hand, get in touch!

Project:
  Rîcâny Trip May 2025

Can you help us to build our relationship with Rîcâny - the town where our Czech Scroll originated.

We need volunteers to help organise a trip to Rîcâny in May 2025.

Periodically:
  FRS Venue Hosting

When we have events, especially venue hire for external parties or our partner charities, we need to have someone on the premises to be the FRS host.

We will provide training incl. how the building works, where things are, emergency procedures and post-event wrap-up.

On-going:
  Kiddush Volunteers

Each week, we rely on our members to volunteer for Kiddush on a Saturday morning to enhance Shabbat for all of us.

Kiddush volunteers should arrive at 9.30am to help set up the Kiddush and clear up at the end until approx. 1pm and will work with a Kiddush Team Leader.

Kiddush volunteers should expect to be on the rota once a quarter.
