Sukkot 5784
We are looking forward to welcoming you to FRS this Sukkot.
Erev Sukkot is on Friday 29 September with a service at 6.30pm at FRS.
There is also Kuddle-Up Shabbat, as normal, at 4.15pm.
Sukkot is on Saturday 30 September with a service at 10.30am at FRS.
Programming during Sukkot:
1. Tuesday 3 October 7.30pm, Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism Forum
In April of this year, the Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism announced that they would be working in close partnership to create a new movement to represent all of Britain’s progressive Jews.
We need you to help us develop the vision; to help us share what the future of a shared, sustainable and effective movement can look like. Rabbi Charley Baginsky and Rabbi Josh Levy will be visiting FRS for a forum in the Ohel on Tuesday 3 October. No booking required.
With your input, support and commitment, the year ahead will be one in which we build together an exciting future for progressive Judaism in the UK
2. Wednesday 4 October 6pm, New Citizens' Gateway Evening of Music and Performance at FRS
We are hosting an evening including the Annual General Meeting for one of our new Eighth Rung partners who we are raising money for as part of our High Holy Day Appeal at 6pm on Wednesday 4th October. NCG supports refugees and asylum seekers in Barnet and beyond and the evening will feature a performance from Chickenshed.
You can book you place by clicking here.
3. Community Consultation
Rabbi Miriam’s departure gives us the opportunity to really think about our community. Who are we, as FRS in our new building? What do we value? What or how might we want to change, grow, or develop? What is most important to us in the coming months and years?
FRS has always been a collaborative community. Your views are critical at this early stage. Please join us for one of our four consultation meetings during Sukkot and add your voice to the discussion:
-
Monday 2 October 3.00pm in the Sukkah with Sue Pearlman and Cantor Zoe
-
Tuesday 3 October 9.30am in the Atrium with Sue Pearlman and Rabbi Deborah
-
Wednesday 4 October 7.00pm on zoom only - with Sue Pearlman and Cantor Zoe

Thursday 5 October 8.00pm in the Ohel - with Sue Pearlman, Rabbi Howard and Cantor Zoe.
We anticipate that we will be together for about 1.5 hours and refreshments will be provided.
Please add your voice to our community consultation & play a part in our community’s future.
