Hello! I’m Karen, and I joined the professional team at FRS in the summer of 2017.
At work, I feel very privileged to get to know FRS families across such a multitude of age ranges and across so many different areas of community life – from festival activities for the pre-schoolers, to our regular education programmes such as Kochavim and the Bnei Mitzvah programme, to teen trips overseas and everything in between. I feel very lucky to be able to enjoy such a diverse job with a fabulous team around me.
An FRS education programme alumni myself, I took my time coming back ‘home’ to FRS, having first trained as a primary school teacher, then spent 10 years working as a Japanese interpreter and translator both in Japan and in Europe.
I ended my overseas living with 4 years in Germany, with my then-new husband and growing family, before settling in Cambridgeshire in 2009. However, after much thought, we decided to relocate to my native north London in 2016, and have not looked back since. My husband and I have three secondary-school-aged children and are thoroughly enjoying watching them grow, with FRS so much a part of their lives!
