Elevenses
2021 saw a major change for Elevenses, the group of 15 to 20 FRS members who have met on Zoom regularly or occasionally every weekday since March 2020. We began successfully opening and facilitating our meetings without clergy support.
Our attendees agree that Elevenses is about relational Judaism, making and maintaining relationships and being and living our values every day through mutual support. For many it is a daily essential, a lifeline, offering deep and meaningful or sometimes simply chatty conversation with members who have become friends. It offers us a place of mutual trust where we can feel shaky, unsure and questioning, sharing the challenges and lows as well as the joys and highs in our lives.
We have supported each other through ongoing serious illness, isolation, and, sadly, the tragic death of one of our beloved members. Elevenses has shown what it means to be and live as a Jew, and we are grateful to each other and to the clergy for helping to create this wonderful way of connecting.
