Autism Support Group

The FRS Autism Support Group, run in conjunction with Reform Judaism, brings together parents of school-age children and young people with autism, to share their experiences, challenges and successes in a supportive and relaxed environment. Topics have included anxiety, siblings, family and friends, Jewish identity and managing change.

We have also heard from Norwood about the support they offer, and the opportunity to participate in their training for parents of children with challenging behaviours. One participant said: “The opportunity to speak about the mental and physical challenges of being a parent of an autistic child, utterly without fear of judgement, has been an enormous relief. Hearing the experiences of others – sometimes similar and just as often different to our own – has also been a powerful experience.”
